Purchase Agreement Explanation

Our Purchase Agreement

With some more experience and a husband that is a licensed attorney, we have decided to combine our Health Guarantee and Purchase Agreement into one document. We are calling this our Purchase Agreement. A contract must have an offer, acceptance, and consideration. We don’t believe that buyers should be forced to follow all the breeder’s ideals. We believe that buyers should be able to do what they want to do with the puppy they purchased. What if people don’t take proper care of the dog they purchased? Our prices discourage the type of people that would get a puppy and not take care of it from purchasing from us. People, in general, do not spend thousands of dollars on something they aren’t going to take care of. What about breeding rights? I breed breeding quality dogs. What does that mean? All our parent dogs are AKC registered or come from AKC parentage and CKC registered as well as health tested, both DNA, OFA, and PennHip. They have all the testing for OFA CHIC certification. We DNA test most of our litters through Embark. We are creating breeding quality dogs and offer breeding rights. With that said, our pricing accounts for the breeding rights allowed. If we have puppies still available at 8 weeks, we are willing to consider accepting a lower price, these puppies will be sold without breeding rights, and without AKC/CKC registration paperwork.

What is our health Guarantee, we guarantee your dog isn’t currently sick. We do this by having the puppy seen by a licensed veterinarian for a complete physical exam twice, once at 3-5 days and again within 1 week of going home.  We give 3 deworming treatments and 2 vaccinations, neopar (parvo only) at 4-6 weeks and a typical 5- way at 7-9 weeks. Your paperwork given to you at pick-ups will have a health record and a signed summary of the veterinarian’s exam.

Our two-year guarantee is reflective of hundreds of two-year guarantees that we have read and is very standard. It covers the genetic and congenital diseases and conditions that we can test for and avoid producing dogs that will carry two copies and develop the disease/condition. What do we not cover? We do not cover small physical imperfections like base narrow teeth, although all our puppies are examined for base narrow at their 8-week vet exam. What do we offer? If your dog is diagnosed with a genetic/congenital disease,  that is covered in our health agreement, within two years of purchasing the puppy, we offer a replacement puppy.
